Karlos Dansby falling out of favor with Buffalo Bills?

The Buffalo Billsflirted with the idea of signing free-agent linebacker Karlos Dansby earlier this month, but the team's haul during the 2013 NFL Draft has put that pursuit on the back-burner.

After Buddy Nix used a second-round pick in this year's draft on versatile Oregon linebacker Kiko Alonso, the Bills general manager acknowledged Dansby might not have a place on the roster.

"We're still going to keep the dialogue open with him," Nix told The Buffalo News on Saturday, "but we do think it's changed some because Alonso can play both places."

Harrison: Recapping the draft

Now that all the picks are in the books, Elliot Harrison breaks down the 2013 NFL Draft. Who won -- and who should be worried? **More ...**

Dansby was passed over by the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this month in favor of former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison. The 31-year-old Dansby has struggled to find work since being released by the Miami Dolphins in March.

This comes just three years after the Dolphins made Dansby the highest-paid linebacker in NFL history. He would bring a dynamic, defensive edge to a handful of NFL rosters, but Dansby still is searching for work as May approaches.
