Kenny Vaccaro became the first 2013 first-round pick to sign a contract.
The New Orleans Saints announced Thursday that Vaccaro was among a group of four draft picks to sign a four-year contract with the team.
Other signees include offensive tackle Terron Armstead, wide receiver Kenny Stills and linebacker Rufus Johnson.
Vaccaro brings a much-needed impact player to a Saints defense that was historically poor in 2012. Both Roman Harper and Malcolm Jenkins -- last year's starting safeties -- are back, but don't be surprised if Vaccaro ends up seeing extended time as a rookie.
The Saints need fresh blood, and Vaccaro's youth and versatility will be welcomed.
