We nearly have reached the point where we don't have enough hours in the day to publish a post every time Richard Sherman speaks critically about an NFL contemporary.
That's what the Seattle Seahawks cornerback does. He plays a role, and he seems to enjoy the attention.
During the latest episode of NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2013," Sherman -- in a taped segment -- said Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White didn't deserve a place on the list. White is ranked 39th.
White was a guest on the "Top 100 Reaction Show" on Thursday night. You can guess where this is going.
"I'm not going to come out and say he shouldn't be a Top 100 player because he should be a Top 100 player, but he talks too much," White said. "He has talked himself into a place where he has to play some really good football this year. I have no problem when he says I'm not that good or I can't do this or I can't do that. But I know the rest of the players in this league know what I can do, and that's why I'm higher on this list than he is."
Sherman is ranked at No. 50, 11 spots behind White, in voting by NFL players.
"He would actually be the first guy that I would want to face," White said of Sherman. "Frankly, I watch film and I know what I can do. I know what my ability is, I know what his ability is. I sit there and watch him, and I'm like, OK. I'm not sitting there, losing any sleep getting ready for Richard Sherman."
White, who also said Sherman "talked his way into being All-Pro," wasn't done.
"He's a front-runner," White said. "When things are going good, he's all good. When things ain't going his way, he has nothing to say -- that's just how he is. You let him talk in the offseason because that's what he likes to do. You let guys like that talk, but at some point when September rolls around, you got to come play football."
We're sure White wouldn't mind a replay of the last time he saw Sherman.
