Second man charged in Aaron Hernandez case has court date set

A man charged with being an accessory in the same murder case that involves former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will be arraigned Monday, the Bristol County (Mass.) District Attorney's Office announced on Saturday.

Bristol prosecutors said the arraignment for Ernest Wallace, 41, of Miramar, Fla., is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on Monday in Attleboro District Court.

Wallace is charged with accessory to murder after the fact in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-pro football player from the Boston area. Hernandez is charged with first-degree murder in Lloyd's death. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say Wallace and another man, Carlos Ortiz, 27, were with Hernandez when they drove with Lloyd to an industrial park in North Attleboro where Lloyd allegedly was shot. Police haven't said who shot Lloyd. Ortiz, who lived in Hernandez's hometown of Bristol, Conn., has been charged with carrying a firearm the day of the shooting.

Lloyd's body was found June 17.

Wallace surrendered to authorities in Miramar last week. A Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman said Wallace was released Friday to Massachusetts officers.
