The misdemeanor simple battery case against LSU sophomore running back Jeremy Hill was closed Friday when the standout rusher pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation, according to the Baton Rouge Advocate, which also posted a witness' cell phone video of the incident.
But the Tigers' leading returning rusher isn't yet out of the legal woods.
Why? Because the battery charge represented a probation violation, stemming from previous misdemeanor charges of carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl. As such, Hill's future in football remains in doubt. While the Tigers are in the dog days of fall camp in mid-August, Hill will have a probation hearing.
Hill rushed for 755 yards and 12 touchdowns last year in only 142 carries. For now, however, carrying a football is the least of his worries.
