Kansas City Chiefs fans want to join try for noise record

Seattle Seahawks fans might have some NFL competition when they go after the Guinness World Record for "loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium."

Kansas City Chiefs fans started a Facebook group, "Terrorhead Returns", with the goal of earning a shot at the record. The group said it's dedicated to "re-affirm and establish our long known history of Arrowhead Stadium as being the 'Loudest Stadium in the NFL.'"

Arrowhead Stadium long has been considered home to one of the most boisterous fan bases in the NFL, dating back to the days when Marty Schottenheimer stalked the sidelines in the 1990s.

The fan group said on its Facebook page that Guinness told them they've passed the first stage of the application process. Their application will move to the next level and final confirmation of acceptance, which might take another few weeks, the group posted.

UPDATE: The group told NFL Network and NFL.com on Thursday that its proposal has received final approval. Next, a date has to be set.
