The Oakland Raiders have their young quarterback under contract.
Fourth-round draft pick Tyler Wilson signed his rookie deal Tuesday, general manager Reggie McKenzie told the Raiders' official website. The Raiders snagged Wilson with the 112th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and reportedly were pleased with his progress during offseason practices.
We normally wouldn't post about a fourth-round draft pick signing his contract, but Wilson looms as an intriguing addition under center for the Raiders.
In April, NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah called Wilson "one of the toughest quarterbacks I've ever evaluated." Our very own Josh Norris ranked Wilson as his top quarterback prospect coming out of the draft process.
He won't blow you away with his arm strength, but Wilson showed guts behind a troubled offensive line at Arkansas. If Matt Flynn stumbles, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Wilson starting for the Raiders at some point during his rookie campaign.
