Earlier this month, the Around The League gang gathered 'round the fire to debate which NFL division would field the strongest roster.
Gregg Rosenthal chimed in first, writing that the "obvious first instinct is the NFC West." Rosey's minions largely agreed, and, not surprisingly, San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore does, too.
"It's probably one of the best divisions in football right now," Gore told the 49ers' official website. "We like it like that. We like it tough."
The NFC West's strengths are obvious. Defenses are stacked across the board. And the Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals all grew stronger on offense.
The division now includes Percy Harvin on the Seahawks, Tavon Austin on the Rams and Carson Palmer as a quarterback upgrade on the Cardinals. In San Francisco, the 49ers won't endure another quarterback transition this season: Colin Kaepernick is the man from Day 1.
"Just knowing what it takes to get to where we got last year," Gore said, "we know if we want to get back there, we've got to do better this year to win it."
