Joe McKnight passes conditioning test, returns for Jets

Running back Joe McKnight embarrassingly failed his conditioning test upon arrival at New York Jets training camp Thursday, marking the second time in his career it's happened. (I wrote this exact same post four seasons ago.)

This time, McKnight's stay on the sideline was a short one.

Our NFL Network field producers spotted McKnight practicing Friday, which means he's now been cleared to play. Back in May, McKnight said his teammates would have to "kill" him to take his spot on the depth chart. Perhaps the Jets rushed McKnight back on the field because they needed someone to take snaps in the backfield.

Projected starter Chris Ivory was on an exercise bike at the start of practice, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Third-down back Mike Goodson was placed on the reserve/did not report list for undisclosed reasons. Bilal Powell is the only Jets running back who doesn't appear to have a problem at the moment.
