Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was stoic in the face of not-so-fuzzy comments from his former teammate, wide receiver Greg Jennings.
If Aa-Rod blew it off, the Minnesota Vikings -- who lured Jennings away in free agency this offseason -- did not.
"That's not something that we're high on,"Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert on Saturday. "And he and I are going to talk before we practice (Saturday afternoon). I've got to grab him. That's not how we do things."
Said Frazier: "We'll talk. We're going to talk about it. He has strong feelings regarding his former team, and that's good. But there is a way to get that communicated, and we've got to sit down and he and I have got to talk a little bit."
Jennings on Thursday referred to Rodgers only as "12," saying, among other things: "A lot of times when you have a guy who creates that spotlight for himself and establishes that and takes a lot of that, it becomes so-and-so and the team. It should always be the team."
The Jennings outburst was odd. He spent his entire pre-Vikings career catching passes from Brett Favre and Rodgers on a team that won plenty of games. Not much to complain about on the surface, but Jennings obviously sees it another way.
In Minnesota, Frazier isn't a coach who relishes players making waves (see: Harvin, Percy), and especially when it generates bulletin-board material for the Green Bay Packers and their all-universe signal-caller. It's time for Jennings to get down to work.
UPDATE: Frazier told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he had talked with Jennings and hopes the issue now dies down.
"We're the Vikings and we want to talk about us, what we're trying to get done," Frazier said. "We've got to focus on us. He (Jennings) is good with that."
