Blaine Gabbert is back at practice for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The team's third-year pro was in full pads with his ankle wrapped Wednesday after suffering a right ankle injury in Monday's session, the Jaguars announced.
Gabbert's injury wasn't thought to be serious, but no timetable had been set for the quarterback's return. Jaguars coach Gus Bradley on Monday called the injury "a freak deal" after Gabbert walked off the field under his own power.
With Chad Henne breathing down his neck, it's important for Gabbert to take all the training-camp snaps he can in coordinator Jedd Fisch's new offense. Bradley inherited Gabbert, as did the fired Mike Mularkey before him. There won't be much patience with the on-the-ropes passer if he doesn't make quick, visible progress.
