Le'Veon Bell could miss 6 weeks with Lisfranc injury

The news is not good for Le'Veon Bell.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the Pittsburgh Steelers believe their rookie running back has a Lisfranc injury, according to a source informed of his injury. Bell could miss around six weeks, and the tentative plan is for no surgery, Rapoport later added.

Bell suffered the injury to his right foot during Monday night's preseason loss to the Washington Redskins. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin announced earlier Wednesday that Bell will go for a second opinion on the injury.

Rapoport reported that the Steelers are frustrated. It's easy to understand why. As Gregg Rosenthal previously wrote, it's Groundhog Day in Pittsburgh, with the team again dealing with multiple injuries in the backfield.

Bell himself is optimistic that his recovery will be faster than expected. He shared a note with his social media followers on Wednesday:

"I'll be back quicker than ppl kno it...God doesn't make mistakes! Everything happens for a reason, so...

Bell had been the talk of Steelers camp earlier this month. But we have to wonder if he's dealing with an injury that might completely compromise his rookie season.
