Texas A&M starting cornerback Deshazor Everett will be suspended for half of the Aggies' season opener against Rice on Saturday, while defensive back Floyd Raven, projected to start at safety, will be suspended for the entire game, the school announced on Saturday.
Both players were arrested on misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an April 30 incident at a College Station, Texas, apartment complex. The two Aggies also allegedly caused vehicle damage.
Everett is best known for a goal-line interception of Alabama's AJ McCarron last season that sealed the Aggies' upset road win over the Crimson Tide.
