What can we expect from Darren McFadden in 2013?
The Oakland Raiders probably are wondering the same thing. The running back is coming off a dreadful season in which he averaged 3.3 yards per carry in an offense that didn't play to his strengths.
Now McFadden enters a contract year. He'd like to stay with the Raiders, though he acknowledges the team hasn't reached out for extension talks.
"I love being a Raider," McFadden said Tuesday, via CSN Bay Area. "As long as they want to bring me back and have me here for as long as they want to have me -- I love being a Raider, and I'm here."
The Raiders might have the opportunity to lock up McFadden with a team-friendly deal, but a wait-and-see approach probably makes more sense. Oakland has had plenty of patience in its would-be franchise star.
Now it's prove-it time.
