Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback EJ Manuel and his injured knee will be tested by the New England Patriots in his first career start Sunday.
Bills coach Doug Marrone continues to insist Manuel is fully healthy, according to WGR-AM.
Marrone added during Friday radio appearance that the full playbook is available to Manuel and there won't be "restrictions or limitations" placed on the rookie QB, per the Bills' official Twitter account.
Marrone was brought to Buffalo from Syracuse University in part because his up-tempo offensive style puts pressure on defenses. In his brief preseason performance, Manuel looked to have the athleticism to run the kind of offense Marrone envisioned.
Most rookies take time to digest the entire playbook and have a full grasp of the offense. Marrone's comments show his faith in the work the rookie quarterback put in during film-room sessions while rehabbing. His statement also most likely is a vague generality that will depend on how the game unfolds for Manuel.
