Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt isn't taking well to his Week 2 benching for ill-timed penalties and a lackadaisical approach to blocking.
One day after coach Mike Munchak called him out through the media, Britt made it clear that he's not long for Nashville.
Cook was an immense talent who grew disillusioned with the Titans' unimaginative offense and his minor role in it. Perhaps Britt identifies with that situation now that the Titans boast the run-heaviest offense in the NFL and a quarterback who struggles to put the ball on the numbers.
Britt made it clear Monday that he hopes to be more involved in the offense going forward.
"I'd love to be involved as much as they want me to be, as much as I've been in the past. But as the game rolls out, I am there when they need me," Britt said, via The Tennesseean. "I am not the coordinator and I am not the quarterback -- they decide where the ball goes. I am still ready to go. It is a long season and we have a lot of games to go."
Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains wants to use Britt more, but the coaching staff has grown weary of the wideout's mistakes.
The difference between Cook and Britt is that there's no longer evidence the latter is a special talent. We haven't seen Britt consistently separate from defensive backs since the first of his three knee surgeries in 2011.
Titans general manager Ruston Webster placed Britt "on the spot" in February and drafted successor Justin Hunter in April. It's been evident for a while that the Titans no longer view Britt as a stable long-term investment, considering his appreciable baggage.
