Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron tied a franchise record with three touchdowns in Sunday's 31-27 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Cameron -- ranked by Pro Football Focus as the NFL's top tight end -- was the difference against the Vikings, hauling in a game-winning score from Brian Hoyer with 55 seconds left in regulation.
Joining NFL Network's "NFL AM" on Monday, Cameron praised coach Rob Chudzinski's leadership in the hours and days after running back Trent Richardson was traded to the Indianapolis Colts.
"You know, he was talking about a lot of people doubting, and there's a lot of 'crowd noise' he likes to call it, and we can't buy into that stuff," Cameron said. "We gotta get closer as a team and show some resilience, and I think we did, and it showed yesterday."
Linebacker D'Qwell Jackson awarded the first game ball of the year to Chudzinski, telling reporters, via the Akron Beacon Journal, "He knew what he was signing up for, but I don't know if he was ready for that last week."
Said Cameron: "After Trent leaving, we had a good week of preparation, and I think a lot of the guys got closer together. Our team leaders spoke to us about trusting this organization and where they're going, and ultimately it paid off."
It was evident in Cleveland's edgy play-calling that nobody was waving the white flag. Without Richardson in the mix, the Browns spread carries to a committee of runners, sometimes lining up a trio of backs in the formation. The Browns amassed 103 yards on the ground, more yardage than they totaled in either of their first two games.
Newly signed runner Willis McGahee said Chud rallied the team amid whispers the Browns were planning to fold the tent and twiddle their thumbs until May's draft.
Said McGahee: "He told everybody he has faith in us. It doesn't matter what anybody thinks on the outside. It's what goes on in here. You start on the inside. I think everybody took that to heart and went out and played."
