Texas Tech quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered a right knee injury on the final play of the third quarter Saturday at Kansas.
Mayfield immediately grabbed his knee after Jayhawks linebacker Schyler Miles rolled into the walk-on true freshman quarterback's leg. Mayfield was unable to put any weight on his leg and was carried to the sideline. Mayfield later used crutches to go back to the locker room.
Mayfield was 32-of-51 passing for 368 yards and one interception with 23 rushing yards and one touchdown before exiting the game, as Texas Tech overcame a 10-0 first-quarter deficit to take a 37-10 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Mayfield was replaced by fellow true freshman Davis Webb, who threw a 25-yard touchdown pass on his second attempt of the game.
