Not much went right for Penn State on Saturday, but junior Allen Robinson put together a game that again showed he is the best wide receiver in the Big Ten.

While Penn State fell 44-24 at Indiana -- the Hoosiers' first-ever victory over the Nittany Lions in 17 meetings -- Robinson finished with 12 receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns. His second scoring catch gave the Nittany Lions a 14-13 lead with 9:18 left in the second quarter, but it was all Indiana after that.

It was a career day for Robinson in terms of receptions and the second-highest yardage total of his career; he had 197 yards on 10 receptions -- and three TDs -- against the Hoosiers last season.

Robinson (6-feet-3, 210 pounds) adapted quickly to coach Bill O'Brien's offense and made a big splash as a sophomore last season, leading the Big Ten with 77 receptions, 1,018 receiving yards and 11 receiving TDs. Robinson, from the Detroit area, has excellent size, good speed and strong hands.

He has 38 receptions for 621 yards (16.3 yards per catch) and five TDs this season.

Robinson had a 46-yard reception Saturday, his sixth catch this season covering at least 40 yards. He needs huge performances the next two games -- against Michigan and Ohio State -- if Penn State is to have a shot at winning those contests.
