NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Folesis expected to start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6.
That's no surprise after Michael Vick left Sunday's win over the New York Giants with a tweaked hamstring, but could that injury lead to Foles stealing away the starting job?
Sure.
Chip Kellycalled Vick day to day and refused to rule him out against Tampa Bay, but the Eagles coach said a switch under center could be made "if someone comes in and puts on an unbelievable show."
Welcome to the National Football League, where everyone can be replaced, even at quarterback.
We don't expect Vick to lose his job -- Kelly still called him the starter after the Giants tilt -- but Foles has a nice opportunity to show his stuff against the Bucs. Vick hasn't played 16 games in a season since 2006, so it was assumed all along we'd see Foles this season. We'll see Vick again, too.
