Winless and paper thin in the backfield, the New York Giants are holding auditions at running back.
Conor Orr of The Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.) reported Monday evening that former Giants running back Danny Ware will try out with the team Tuesday, according to the player's agent. Former Browns and Buccaneers bruiser Peyton Hillis also will work out for Big Blue, a source told the newspaper.
New York is looking for a patch with David Wilson expected to miss three to four weeks with a neck injury and Da'Rel Scottout for now with a strained hamstring.
The Giants are down to back-from-the-dead Brandon Jacobs as their lead horse. Not so bad in 2007, but here in 2013? It's a cry for help.
