A look at the top 10 performances by wide receivers from Week 10:
10. Joshua Sanford, Virginia Tech
The key stats: Six receptions for 171 yards in a loss at Boston College
The buzz: Hardly anything went right for the Hokies in a devastating loss to the Eagles, but the lone bright spot was the emergence of Sanford, a 6-foot-1, 196-pound redshirt freshman who came into the game with 21 receptions for 284 yards.
*9. Josh Harper, Fresno State *
The key stats: 17 receptions for 253 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Nevada
The buzz: Harper kept the Bulldogs' push to bust the BCS alive with a dominant performance against the Wolf Pack, besting his previous career-highs by eight catches and 133 yards.
8. Bennie Fowler, Michigan State
The key stats: Six receptions for 75 yards and one touchdown in a win over Michigan
The buzz: Fowler scored the go-ahead touchdown in the second quarter and the Spartans never looked back in a dominant 29-6 victory over 'big brother' Michigan.
7. Shaq Roland, South Carolina
The key stats: Two receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Mississippi State
The buzz: Roland didn't do much in the Gamecocks' 34-16 win over the Bulldogs, but made both of his first-quarter catches count. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound sophomore was suspended three games earlier this season for violating university policy, but Roland has shown the big-play ability to be a major player for head coach Steve Spurrier.
6. T.J. Jones, Notre Dame
The key stats: Four receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown in a win over Navy
The buzz: Jones had a 45-yard touchdown catch as the Fighting Irish outlasted the Midshipmen to keep their slim BCS bowl hopes alive.
5. Quinshad Davis, North Carolina
The key stats: Two receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns in a win at North Carolina State
The buzz: Davis added two more touchdowns to bring his tally to seven on the season, including a lovely toe-tapping fade at the goal line. Not much has gone right for the Tar Heels this season, but the continued improvement from the 6-foot-4, 205-pound sophomore Davis has been a bright spot. Davis could be a preseason All-American coming into the 2014 season and will certainly be on the radar of NFL evaluators.
4. Kenny Lawler, California
The key stats: Six receptions for 72 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to Arizona
The buzz: Lawler caught his first three career touchdowns in the 33-28 loss to the Wildcats, including a sensational one-handed grab as good as any in college football this season.
3. Allen Robinson, Penn State WR
The key stats: 11 receptions for 165 yards in an overtime win over Penn State
The buzz: As has been the case all season long, Robinson again delivered in the critical moments, catching a key 16-yard pass to set up the Nittany Lions' game-tying field goal late in the fourth quarter. Thanks to his remarkable ability to high-point the ball, Robinson now has six 100-yard performances this season despite being the clear focus of opposing defenses.
2. Sammy Watkins, Clemson
The key stats: Eight receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns in a win at Virginia
The buzz: It was Watkins' fifth game with 100 receiving yards in the Tigers' last six, having missed the mark in the loss to Florida State. (The less said about that game, the better).
1. Marqise Lee, USC
The key stats: Five receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown in a win at Oregon State
The buzz: Lee caught a 71-yard touchdown on the Trojans' first offensive play against the Beavers and generally looked like the force of nature he had been in his first two seasons in his return from a knee injury Friday night.
