Christian Ponder taking most Minnesota Vikings snaps

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport noted last week it was "very possible" that Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder would play Sunday after dislocating his left shoulder in Minnesota's victory last week over the Washington Redskins.

The Vikings planned to use Wednesday's practice to judge Ponder's health ahead of the team's Week 11 tilt with the Seattle Seahawks, and the early returns were encouraging.

"I'm pretty sure Christian probably got the majority (of snaps)," backup Josh Freeman said after the session, per the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "Glad to see he's feeling better."

Coach Leslie Frazier told reporters before practice that Ponder's status for Seattle is up in the air. If he can't go, Freeman is a candidate to start, according to Frazier.

Rapoport reported Friday that the Vikings viewed Ponder's performance against the Redskins as the finest of his career. It's Ponder's job to lose for the rest of this season, according to Mr. RapSheet. As for next season, we wouldn't be surprised to see Minnesota blow up its quarterback room and reboot the machine from scratch.
