Seemingly shrugging off any pressure emanating from his involvement in a sexual-assault case, Florida State's Jameis Winston threw four touchdown passes Saturday as second-ranked Florida State blasted hapless Idaho 80-14.
FSU set a school record for points; the mark had been 77 against North Carolina State in 1995.
Winston's fourth TD pass capped off FSU's first second-half drive, and he sat the rest of the game. He threw one TD pass in the first quarter and had two in the second, which ended with the Seminoles leading 42-7. Winston has 32 TD passes this season.
Winston was 14 of 25, and the 56 percent completion rate was his second-lowest of the season; the worst came against Bethune-Cookman, a FCS school. In other words, his worst percentages came against the two weakest teams on the schedule.
It was his fourth game with at least four TD passes and his 10th with at least two scoring tosses.
Two of his touchdown passes Saturday went to senior Kenny Shaw, who went into the game with three scoring receptions; it was the first two-TD game of Shaw's career. He finished with five receptions for 107 yards.
Florida State has scored 40 points in every game this season, and the Seminoles already have 607 points, a school single-season record; they have three games remaining -- next week's regular-season finale at archrival Florida, the ACC championship game and a bowl game. FSU is two wins away from a spot in the BCS national championship game.
