Running back Knowshon Moreno's bruised ankle and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie's banged-up shoulder merited a "day-to-day" status from Broncos interim coach Jack Del Rio on Monday, but the news on Kevin Vickerson is less hopeful.
The defensive tackle dislocated his hip against the Patriots and is expected to miss a minimum of six weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Vickerson won't require surgery, per the report, but his season might be over depending on how far Denver travels into the postseason.
We're not ready to call it a year for Vickerson, as hip injuries rank among the trickiest to peg a timeline to.
Vickerson, 30, hasn't been especially effective this season, grading 61st among 70 eligible interior linemen, per Pro Football Focus. In his absence, a combination of Terrance Knighton, Mitch Unrein and Sylvester Williams will be asked to step up for a defensive line that has fared well against the run, but hardly can afford to lose starters.
