New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with a foot injury sustained in last week's thrilling comeback victory over the Broncos.
Although the covert Patriots predictably failed to yield information about the injury, a source told MassLive.com's Nick Underhill that it's a sprain. The team is simply using extra caution in holding him out this week.
Fellow rookie Kenbrell Thompkins took Dobson's spot in the second half of last week's game and is expected to do so again Sunday.
Dobson's 35 receptions are second only to Julian Edelman's 61 on the Patriots this season. Thompkins isn't far behind, however, at 31.
There's not a significant drop-off between the two rookies.
Expect Tom Brady's aerial attack to continue to play at a high level against a defense that made Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt McGloin look like a star in his first NFL start.
