Patriots' Rob Gronkowski believed to have torn ACL

The New England Patriots have relied on Rob Gronkowski to lift their offense out of the mire, but he's out of the lineup again.

The playmaking tight end was carted off the field in Foxborough on Sunday after suffering a right leg injury on a third-quarter, 21-yard grab against the Cleveland Browns. He did not return to the game and NFL Media's Albert Breer reported, via a source who's spoken to the tight end, that Gronk is believed to have suffered a torn ACL.

Gronkowski will have an MRI done Monday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a person informed of Gronk's plans.

Gronkowski was motionless on the field after Browns safety T.J. Ward took him out with a vicious, but clean, low hit.

The Patriots beat the Browns, 27-26.
