New York Jets are eliminated from playoff contention

The New York Jets were eliminated from playoff contention on Monday night when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Detroit Lions, 18-16.

Since making two consecutive appearances in the AFC Championship Game, the Jets have fallen off drastically under coach Rex Ryan. They've now missed out on the postseason for three straight years, leaving the players with only Ryan's job -- and their own -- to play for in the final two weeks of the 2013 season.

The Ravens are 8-6 and trail the Cincinnati Bengals by one game in the AFC North, but will win the division if they win their final two games, including the regular-season finale at Cincinnati.

The Lions fell behind the Bears and Packers in the NFC North.
