Matt Schaub starting for Houston Texans vs. Titans

Matt Schaub is getting one final start as the Houston Texans' starting quarterback. And his play could help decide the next decade of Texans football.

The team announced Sunday morning that Case Keenum was inactive because of his thumb injury. Schaub got the start against the Tennessee Titans, with a loss by the Texans clinching the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

ESPN reported that Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith spent Saturday night evaluating Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, expected by many analysts to be the top choice in May's draft. If the Texans win Sunday, there's a chance the St. Louis Rams could grab the No. 1 draft pick. (The Rams hold the Washington Redskins' selection.)

Schaub is due $11 million next season and has virtually no chance to be back with the Texans. After seven seasons as the team's starter, a win Sunday would be a bittersweet send-off for many Texans fans hoping to rebuild with the No. 1 overall draft pick.
