Notre Dame defensive end Stephon Tuitt will enter the 2014 NFL Draft, telling Sports Illustrated of his intentions Sunday night.
Tuitt (6-foot-6, 312 pounds) asserted himself as a sophomore during the Fighting Irish's undefeated regular season, recording 12 sacks, the second-best tally in school history. And while the ND defense took a step back this season, Tuitt led the team with nine tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
Showing that kind of disruptive presence in Notre Dame's 3-4 base defense, Tuitt will be a valued commodity that could stay in that position or kick inside in a 4-3 alignment. Wherever he lines up, Tuitt projects as a potential first-round pick.
