INDIANAPOLIS -- Coach Dennis Allen doesn't know yet who will be under center when the Oakland Raiders open offseason training activities this spring.
Asked at the NFL Scouting Combine if his 2014 quarterback is on the roster, Allen said Thursday that he "doesn't know the answer to that yet."
The Raiders will look at the position closely as an area that needs improvement this offseason.
Allen acknowledged that the jury remains out on Terrelle Pryor, whom he classified as a young quarterback in need of more time to develop. Bay Area News Group recently reported that the Raiders will listen to offers for Pryor.
The AFC West's only non-playoff team likely will have a new signal-caller in 2014. The question is whether that quarterback will be acquired via free agency or the draft.
Here's what else we learned from Allen on Thursday:
» Allen believes 37-year-old Charles Woodson still has a lot left in the tank. The Raiders are interested in bringing the eight-time Pro Bowl selection back for a 17th NFL season.
» Impending free-agent defensive end Lamarr Houston is "certainly" one of the players the Raiders are going to try to bring back on a long-term contract. Allen referred to Houston as a multi-dimensional player who is still young and improving coming off a career year.
