It's right there on LSU running back Jeremy Hill's official NFL Scouting Combine bio page: "Arrested multiple times in past few years."
And it's in red ink, too, calling attention to the biggest red flag of all regarding Hill.
Hill, who measured 6-foot-1 and 233 pounds at the combine weigh-in Friday, rushed for 1,401 yards and 16 TDs in 2013. He also led LSU in rushing with 755 yards as a redshirt freshman in 2012. Hill is a tough, physical runner who lacks elite speed but does have a burst. But it's the off-field issues that have damaged his draft stock.
Hill missed one game and one quarter in 2013 because of suspensions. He missed the 2011 season after being arrested on sexual assault charges and was arrested in April 2013 after allegedly punching a man outside a bar in Baton Rouge, La. He is on probation until July 12, 2015.
Hill is doing his best to limit any potential damage.
At a news conference Friday, Hill said it is fair that his off-field issues are in the spotlight.
"I put myself in that situation, but, like I said, I can't really focus on that," he said. "All I can do is make the right decisions going forward and put myself in the best position possible. ... I'm just moving forward and doing the right things from here on out."
Hill also said that NFL teams are aware of his past.
"It's just up to me to be honest about it and let them know ... everything that happened, and everything else will take care of itself after that," he said.
NFL Media draft analyst Mike Mayock has Hill as his No. 2 running back in the draft, but says Hill is a second-round talent who won't be drafted that early because of his off-field issues. Fellow analyst Bucky Brooks also has Hill No. 2 among running backs, but wrote that "character concerns have prevented scouts from getting really excited about Hill's potential."
"I'm going into draft day with nothing expected, and just being blessed and honored if any team takes me," Hill said. "I'm not really having high expectations."
