If you're looking for a scenario that will cause the Internet to buzz for days, perhaps you could mention Johnny Manziel being drafted by the New England Patriots.
That scenario might not be so far-fetched based on a report from NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.
Tom Brady does turn 37 before the season, and backup Ryan Mallett has only a handful of snaps in the NFL, so it makes some sense that the team has an eye on the future coming into this year's draft.
But can you really imagine Johnny Football and Bill Belichick discussing how to beat the Jets? Drafting Manziel would certainly be a little out of character for an organization that has prided itself in minimizing off-the-field distractions.
At the same time, Manziel and Rob Gronkowski would form a dangerous duo on the field that would be tough for defenses to account for. They could also be stars in a highly rated reality TV show.
Fellow insider Albert Breer added some context to the Patriots' visits, tweeting that the team also visited with Blake Bortles last week. That could be further confirmation that they're looking for a possible replacement for Brady, but it would be tough to see either quarterback being around when the Patriots select at No. 29 overall.
Perhaps it's just due diligence in case Manziel Mania is overblown and he slips to the end of the first round. Until then, fans can only dream about the possibility of Johnny Football in a New England uniform.
UPDATE: Manziel isn't the only high-profile quarterback the Patriots are set to host Wednesday.
