Chris Johnson is on his way to the Volunteer State.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday night that CJ2K is headed to Tennessee for a face-to-face meeting with Titans general manager Ruston Webster, after which the running back likely will be released, per a source informed of the Titans' plans.
Johnson's impending release comes as no surprise after his agent, Joel Segal, said Wednesday that it was just a "matter of time" before the organization cut ties with the back.

Johnson is coming off a disappointing campaign in which he rushed for under four yards per carry for the first time in his career.
UPDATE: Rapoport added Friday morning that Johnson will take a physical today in Tennessee before he is released by the Titans, and a source close to Johnson says he might fail the physical. CJ2K had a cleanup procedure on his knee two months ago, and he wouldn't technically be ready to go if the season started today, per Rapoport.
Rapoport added, however, that Johnson's injury is minor, and he should be able to participate in camps for whatever team he joins next.
