The Atlanta Falcons are hosting former Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Wilson on Tuesday, according to ESPN.com's John Keim. A league source told Keim that Wilson previously met with the Lions on Monday, but that was before Detroit signed free-agent cover man Cassius Vaughn to a one-year contract.

Wilson started all 48 games for the Redskins over the past three seasons, but finished 2013 as the No. 80 player at his position, according to Pro Football Focus. He struggled in coverage and didn't stand out as strong run-defender.
The Falcons are in better shape at corner than they were last offseason. Second-year man Robert Alford is expected to slide into a starting role in 2014 across from Desmond Trufant, with Robert McClain penciled in at the slot.
Atlanta is hunting for depth in the secondary, but after the Saintsmatched Atlanta's offer sheet for veteran Rafael Bush, safety looms as the more pressing concern.
UPDATE: Wilson has signed a one-year contract with the Falcons, the team announced Tuesday. Atlanta also signed safety Dwight Lowery.
