TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The gathering of scouts at Alabama's second pro-day workout, where offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio was the primary draw, wasn't as strong Tuesday as it was for the Crimson Tide's first pro day. But Kouandjio wasn't about to let any of the roughly two dozen assembled scouts leave without seeing everything from him they wanted to.
And he'll get an upcoming chance to show the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the same things, as he confirmed a private workout with the NFC South club as the next team on his schedule.
"I just wanted to show them that I have pretty good stamina. That type of stuff, you can work on it, you know? On the field work, I think I showed I have talent and skill. I think it was a good workout today," Kouandjio said.
The offensive tackle said the health of his knee, which came under question at the NFL Scouting Combine, is fine. And at 322 pounds, the results of his training showed. Kouandjio said he improved his vertical jump by six inches from the combine from 25 inches to 31, and felt smooth and light throughout. NFL scouts put him through extensive field drills, which he had already performed once at Alabama's previous pro day, after his timed drills were finished. Scouts from the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles were among the clubs with scouting representation at the workout. Kouandjio wasn't the only attraction, however. Linebacker Adrian Hubbard, defensive end Ed Stinson and safety Vinnie Sunseri were among other pro prospects who took part.
Kouandjio said he was unaware of his official 40-yard dash times. He was clocked at 5.59 at the combine.
