The 2013 Tennessee Titans finished with a 7-9 record and missed the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
Safety Bernard Pollard had another way of summarizing the team's season.
"We have been a team where we have sucked butt," he said, per TitanInsider. "And I'm just being perfectly honest with you. We have sucked butt, and it's time for us to turn that corner. Like I said last year and this year, we're gonna knock the piss out of you.
"It's gonna be fair. It's gonna be within the lines -- I may get one outside the lines or whatever -- but that's just who I am and that's just who we are. It's going to be a lot of fun doing it."
Pollard will get no argument from the peanut gallery.
The main reason the Titans have "sucked" in recent seasons is their instability at quarterback.
With Jake Locker playing just 18 games combined the past two years due to injury, the Titans have been stuck in neutral.
The No. 8 overall draft pick in 2011, as expected, was limited Tuesday during the Titans' voluntary minicamp.
"Those are things that we're working into and we're going to get more comfortable with, hopefully in the next week or two," Locker said, per ESPN.com. "I'm probably erring on the side of more being cautious at this point. I think if you asked me to go do it right now, I could."
If Locker can't stay health for 16 games, or Tennessee doesn't find another solution under center, Pollard might be giving the same quote 12 months from now.
