Jermichael Finley still hasn't been medically cleared to return to football following neck surgery, but that doesn't mean he won't ever have suitors.
The Green Bay Packers drafted tight end Richard Rodgers in the third round this weekend, but general manager Ted Thompson wouldn't rule out bringing back Finley, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"I don't necessarily think the two are tied at all," Thompson said. "We were just trying to pick a good player."
Finley was scheduled to undergo an X-ray and other tests late in April. There has been no word of the result of the tests.
The Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins are among the teams who have expressed interest in signing the athletic tight end if he is cleared.
The Packers added Rodgers to a tight end group that includes Andrew Quarless and Brandon Bostick. It would be a crowded group if Finley re-upped in Green Bay, but while we wait for his medical clearance there is no reason for Thompson to rule it out.
