Deone Bucannon signs with Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have locked up their entire 2014 draft class.

On Thursday, the team announced the signing of first-round pick Deone Bucannon, the draft's No. 27 overall choice. Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, it's a four-year contract worth $7,709,200. The deal includes a fifth-year option and $6,237,946 guaranteed.

The hard-hitting product out of Washington State adds another intriguing player to an already loaded defensive backfield.

Assuming 2013 Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate Tyrann Mathieu is fully recovered, the projected starting lineup will feature him and Bucannon at safety, with Patrick Peterson and free-agent pickup Antonio Cromartie at the corners. That lineup should represent one of the best secondaries in the league.

With the excellent passing attacks in the loaded NFC West, the Cardinals are well-equipped to build on their surprising 2013 season.
