The Jacksonville Jaguars' receiving corps has been decimated by injury this offseason making the play of rookie receiver Marqise Lee more vital.
However, the pass-catcher played just 16 snaps in Friday night's 16-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and didn't have so much as one ball thrown his way.
Coach Gus Bradley called out the second-round pick's effort in the preseason opener, citing lackadaisical route running.
"I think that's one of those things we're looking at -- it's the consistency," Bradley said Saturday, per The Florida Times-Union. "Run your routes (like the football) is coming to you. You can't change speeds. You can't choose when and when not to. I've told you before that I've seen him switch to where he's more focused.
"I'd like to visit with him about what happened (Friday). He did play good, but he could have done some things even more precise. It wasn't exactly where we need him to be."
Lee possesses the skill to be a playmaking weapon in the Jags' passing game, providing whichever quarterback is under center with a viable threat out wide. But an early preseason scolding from a coach isn't the way for any rookie to start.
