Eagles acquire Kenjon Barner from Panthers

Chip Kelly has brought another former Oregon Duck to Philadelphia.

The Eaglesannounced the acquisition of running back Kenjon Barner from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a conditional 2015 draft pick. Barner, a sixth-round pick by Carolina last year, was buried on a loaded Panthers depth chart. Fozzy Whittaker looks like a good bet to make the Panthers now.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have questions at the position after LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles. Chris Polk has been out with a hamstring injury and has struggled to stay healthy in the past. Matthew Tucker has been the Eagles' No. 4 running back in camp.

Kelly said in a statement that Barner would also compete as a return man, where wide receiver Josh Huff was recently injured. Barner is the ninth player from Oregon currently on the Eagles roster, but the only one named Kenjon.

The latest "Around The League Podcast" recaps all of the action from the second week of the preseason.
