It appears a hand injury will force Maurice Jones-Drew to miss his first home game as an Oakland Raider.
The running back confirmed Thursday he underwent a procedure on his right hand -- not for a broken bone, he said -- and wouldn't rule himself out of the game.
However, according to CSN Bay Area, multiple sources have indicated that MJD won't be available Sunday against the Houston Texans. Jones-Drew is not practicing Friday and is officially questionable.
The running back's hand was visibly swollen, according to reporters, but the veteran hopes he doesn't miss much time.
"I'd love to go out there, but it's a long season," Jones-Drew said Thursday. "You want to make sure that everything is right and where it needs to be."
The Jets in Week 1 shut down the Raiders' running game and Jones-Drew had particular trouble (1.8 yards per carry). If MJD is on the sideline, Darren McFadden and Latavius Murray will carry the load against J.J. Watt, Brian Cushing and Co.
