The Houston Texans' path to 3-0 looks like it will get a little more difficult.
NFL Media's Kimberly Jones reported that Arian Foster will not play vs. the New York Giantson Sunday. The team later confirmed that Foster is on the inactive list.
Foster has been dealing with a hamstring injury. The running back was limited in practice all week and was listed as questionable entering the weekend.
The sixth-year veteran entered Week 3 as the NFL's second-leading rusher, with 241 yards on 55 carries. Foster has been the workhorse for the Texans, who have leaned on the rushing attack to protect quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick as they jumped out to a 2-0 start.
Foster has a history of injuries and missed eight games due to a back injury last season. He dealt with some hamstring issues this offseason, but the coaches believed he was in the best shape of his career entering the season.
With Foster out, the main duties will be shouldered by rookie Alfred Blue, who has shown flashes in early this season and in the preseason. Jonathan Grimes and veteran Ronnie Brown should also be in the mix.
