Cincinnati defensive tackle Devon Still knows firsthand that NFL fans care about more than just wins and losses.
The team announced Sunday that Bengals faithful -- and fans league-wide -- have placed orders for nearly 10,000 Still jerseys, a tribute to the defensive lineman and his 4-year-old daughter Leah, who suffers from pediatric cancer.
The Bengals have tracked orders from all 50 states as well as Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
The widespread support will generate more than $1 million for the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The Bengals will absorb the cost of the first 10,000 jerseys -- roughly $500,000 -- to allow for the full sale price of the garb to go to research.
"We applaud Devon for his openness in sharing his daughter's challenging story nationwide through media and social media," Bengals executive vice-president Katie Blackburn said in a press release.
"We also applaud the response of our fans and many others to the jersey sales. The welfare of Devon and Leah are foremost in our minds, but we are proud and excited to be able to be a part of something that can help advance the cause of fighting childhood cancer."
The Bengals will present a check to Cincinnati Children's on Nov. 6 during the team's *Thursday Night Football* tilt against the Cleveland Browns at Paul Brown Stadium.
