A.J. Green's nagging toe injury just won't seem to go away.
The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver left practice on a cart Wednesday after he appeared to aggravate his toe in warmups, per the team's official site. Green was getting looked at by officials before departing practice. He reportedly looked visibly frustrated.
The team's site reports that Green will undergo an MRI, and that he could wind up getting shut down for a few weeks. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the wideout is seeing a doctor Thursday after suffering the injury and his status for Sunday is in doubt, per a team source.
Few receivers make as big an impact on their team. Green is the engine to the Bengals' passing game, even if Andy Dalton can't hit him outside the numbers often enough.
Green has 314 yards this season despite missing nearly all of Week 2 with the same toe injury. Fellow starting wide receiver Marvin Jones and tight end Tyler Eifert also remain out with injuries.
