Prior to his worst performance of the season, it was announced that Dez Bryantsigned with Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports agency.
The Cowboys and Bryant couldn't come to an agreement this offseason before the receiver's self-imposed season deadline. Then Bryant fired his agent before signing with Roc Nation.
The wideout said Sunday he'd be open discussing a contract extension during the season "if it's right," per ESPN Dallas. The reversal from his earlier stance opens a tiny crack in the window of possibility that a deal gets done sooner rather than later.
If nothing comes of the talks, the Cowboys hold the ability to franchise Bryant the next two seasons -- a thought the receiver doesn't much like.
"I'm going to tell you the God's honest truth: I'd be highly disappointed," Bryant said of the possibility of the Cowboys using the franchise tag on him. "I'd be highly disappointed."
While Bryant, who is having another Pro Bowl-caliber season, is open to discussing a contract in-season, it remains more likely that if a multi-year deal is to get done it will happen in the offseason -- or Bryant will be sorely unhappy when he gets tagged.
