Injury roundup: Larry Fitzgerald 'iffy' for Sunday

Giovani Bernard is back with the Bengals.

The shifty running back returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the past three games with the hip injury he suffered against the Ravens in Week 8, per ESPN.com's Coley Harvey.

Bernard is expected to play in Sunday's critical tilt against the Texans as Cincinnati looks to keep hold of its slim lead over Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cleveland in the AFC North.

The larger question is how many carries Bernard will see after Jeremy Hill rumbled for 361 yards over the past three games, including a pair of 150-plus yard explosions. We still expect Gio to see plenty of touches in space as an outside runner and pass-catcher, but Hill has cemented himself in Hue Jackson's attack.

Other injuries we're tracking as Wednesday barrels on:

  1. Still mired in the NFL's concussion protocol, Browns tight end Jordan Camerondid not practice, The Plain Dealer reported. While Cleveland prepares to dip Josh Gordon back into the lineup, it's anyone's guess when Cameron will continue his injury-plagued campaign.
  1. Redskins tight end Jordan Reedmissed practice with an injury to his right hamstring, per The Washington Post. The pass-catcher is no guarantee to heal up in time for Sunday's meeting with the 49ers.

Redskins offensive linemen Trent Williams (knee) and Shawn Lauvao (concussion) did not practice. Defensive lineman Chris Baker (chest) also did not participate, while linebacker Trent Murphy (knee) was limited.

  1. More tight end news: Kansas City's Anthony Fasano was listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Raiders with a knee injury, per ESPN.com's Adam Teicher. Chiefs wideout Donnie Avery (groin) has been ruled out.
  1. Emmanuel Sanders didn't practice as he continues to heal from the concussion he suffered in Sunday's upset loss to the Rams, per ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold. Running back Ronnie Hillman (foot) and tight end Julius Thomas (ankle) also sat out of practice.
  1. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (knee) missed practice Wednesday and his status for Sunday is "iffy," coach Bruce Arians said.
  1. Brandon Marshall (ankle) and Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) led a group of Chicago Bears that did not participate in practice. Also in the group were rookie defensive tackle Ego Ferguson (illness) and linebacker Darryl Sharpton (hamstring).
