UCLA coach Jim Mora seems to think he will have quarterback Brett Hundley for just one more game.
Hundley and the Bruins (9-3) will find out their bowl destination Sunday, and it appears that will be Hundley's final game for the Bruins.
"I'm sure Brett will declare and go play at the next level," Mora said Monday on "The Rich Eisen Show." "I think he's ready to do that. I mean, he's done what he can do at UCLA. You know, he's like all quarterbacks. You know, he's an unfinished product right now, but that's what everybody is going into the league, and I think he's going to be a really fine NFL quarterback."
Hundley (6-foot-3, 226 pounds), a fourth-year junior, toyed with the idea of turning pro last season but decided to return. Hundley has thrown for 3,019 yards, 21 touchdowns and five interceptions, and also run for 548 yards and eight scores. Hundley piled up 3,819 yards in total offense in 13 games last season and is at 3,567 through 12 games this season. He had 24 TD passes and nine picks, and rushed for 748 yards and 11 TDs last season.
Mora spoke highly of Hundley as a person, saying NFL GMs and owners won't have any worries making Hundley the public face of a franchise. As for NFL comparisons, Mora said he sees "a little Philip Rivers in him, I see some Matt Ryan in him, but I don't know. I see some (Colin) Kaepernick in the way he runs. But you know he's a guy that can make every single throw on the field, and he's got the ability to run. So I'm excited to see what happens with his career."
