Keenan Allen sidelined by collarbone, ankle injuries

Keenan Allen has likely played his final snap of 2014.

The Chargersannounced Tuesday that Allen is not expected to play Saturday against the 49ers after suffering a broken collarbone and an ankle injury during Sunday's loss to the Broncos.

San Diego has not placed Allen on injured reserve, but consider it a major upset if the second-year wide receiver plays again in the regular season. The Chargers need a whole lot to go right to play football beyond that.

Allen injured his ankle in the second quarter on Sunday but attempted to play through the issue before eventually being carted to the locker room in the second half. The collarbone injury is a new development that hadn't been initially reported on.

Allen leads the Chargers in receptions (77) and yards (783) with four touchdowns. He was second in Offensive Rookie Of The Year voting in 2013, when he had 71 receptions for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns.
