Aaron Rodgers outlined the value of slot receiver Randall Cobb last month, stressing the importance of the Packers re-signing the impending free agent.
Asked about his Green Bay future on Monday, Cobb made it clear that his preference is to continue catching passes from Rodgers.
"Of course (I want to be back). I think I've made that obvious," Cobb said. "Like I've said before: This is a business. You don't know how it's going to go. What direction it's going to go in. You just have to sit around. I hope that I've put myself in the position where it'll handle itself. But only time can tell."
Cobb added that he can't be certain about returning because "I haven't signed the dotted line yet."
Still just 24 years old, Cobb has established his value as the NFL's premier slot receiver and Rodgers' go-to target on broken plays. The Rodgers-to-Cobb connection generated a passer rating of 134.3 in 2014, the highest mark in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus.
That production suggests Cobb's camp will be eyeing a new contract on par with Victor Cruz's five-year, $43 million extension signed in July of 2013.

Whether or not the Packers are high on young receivers Davante Adams and Jeff Janis, it makes sense to splurge on a player of Cobb's age, demonstrated production and talent level while Rodgers is propping open the championship window.
